School Safety and Community Service

Recently at West Bay Collaborative's Alternative Learning Program, staff have been taking part in both community events and professional development activities to enhance the school in many ways.  Our Director, Shane McConnell, and Social Worker, Morgan Deschene, were invited to attend the Warwick Police Department's annual Community Leaders Dinner and met local community leader and police officers.  Meetings like this continue to solidify the strong relationship between West Bay Collaborative and the Warwick Police Department, ensuring a high level of safety throughout our community.Physical Education and Health Teacher, Ryan Meade, took part in a workshop to help improve safety measures at the school involving possible bomb incidents.  Meanwhile, Opportunity to Learn (OTL) students were invited to a TeamWorks-sponsored breakfast based on their outstanding volunteer work.  Students were celebrated and recognized by TeamWorks staff at this event for all their hard work.
